Artist's Comments

This was the second of a three step intaglio in Print class. This step was to use something called Aqua Tent. Then we were to use a color tented black ink. I chose aqua.

All of my prints in this class are based off of bugs and "represent" one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

I like the idea though I like you pride much more mostly cause you use my favorite color red xDD but this is good to but I would say when you go to draw a flower what helps me a lot is if I look at one in either a photo or real life form there I kinda get like a what I call a artist mental wacom I draw it in my head and then I memorized how I did that then I draw it on paper! its a cool habit to get into if you ever try it!

The final step just has a few more tone changes and uses two colors. It's done but all the pieces need to dry so I couldn't scan it.

The color version of this actually has some red in it. XD I actually used a photo reference but I didn't want the flower to be as realistic as the moth so you would look at the moth not the flower. Also keeping the flower more flat fits the Sin of Envy because then the "fake" or "flat" flower is envious of a real flower, just like the moth is envious of a real hummingbird.

It's no big, you're not the first to make a comment about the flower. I probably should have made it more realistic but I like it better this way.
